But you're right about one thing -- they're not reality. See, CBO projects Obama's deficits over the next ten years to be $12 trillion on the assumption that the economy grows 4% annually. But if growth is half of that -- and that's a fair bet at this point -- his deficits will be $24 trillion.
And that's BEFORE cap and trade, socialized medicine and all the rest of his reckless, radical agenda is enacted.

The National Debt is currently $11.3 trillion or so. And Obama has added at least $12 trillion to that number over the next ten years with the budgets he has already passed. And that assumes a growth rate of 4% each year over the next ten. If growth is half of that, his $12 trillion becomes $24 trillion.
So, let's do the math:
- All previous presidents: $11.3 trillion
- Barack Obama: At LEAST $12 trillion

Our first real problem is not a political one it is a legal one Where is his Live Birth Certificate? I 'll tell you he does not have one! His own Grandmother states she was at his birth in Kenya and the Kenya Ambassador to the US stated Obama was born in Kenya. Obama is not above the law if I need to produce a birth certificate for my Texas Drivers License then he must produce an authentic Birth Certificate too.
SO, what I'M doing is writing on my mail--EVERY PIECE OF IT, from postcards to Christmas packages--"WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"
Thousands of postal workers will see it, & the friends & businesses it goes to, & it costs me ZERO dollars.
Let's just hope we can get the word out before we have to buy our stamps with "Ameros." Ugh.

First of all, if the US and Canada were to enter into a political union, the currency would not be called "Ameros" because, in case you haven't noticed, Canada's currency is also called the "Dollar". In fact, guess what, the United States of America IS a union of States on the American continent. See? The Founding Fathers had foresight enough to name things by what they are or will be.
I don't even know why I'm even responding to you because the only actual possibility is that you are trolling. No real person can be this stupid.
Secondly, John McCain was born in Panama to U.S. parents, if he's eligible by your standards and your vote, then Obama is even more so considering he was born to a U.S. parent which makes him a natural born citizen by the Naturalization Act of 1795.
The third point would be that, hypothetically if President Obama was disqualified from office, Joe Biden would become President as he is officially VP and the electoral college voted in favor of the Democratic ticket. Biden would simply sign all those bills into law again.

People are rightfully demanding that Obama release his long-form birth certificate, because that COLB is suspicious. There's no doctor or hospital name, and "Negro" is the term commonly used to describe one's race. Not African.
Obama has spent nearly a million dollars fighting these suits to compel him to release his long-vault BC, along with his college and medical records. If he has nothing to hide, why would he be spending so much money keeping these records sealed?
And this does not even address the issue of how he traveled to Pakistan in 1981 when the US had a ban on all foreign travel to Pakistan. How did he get there? Many people on an Indonesian passport.
Our Founding Fathers wanted a natural born citizen to be President so that we would have a leader with no conflicting allegiances with other countries. John McCain is a Natural Born Citizen because (1) his parents were US citizens, (2) his father was station on a military base there, and (3) Panama was under US jurisdiction as part of the canal zone.
Obama's father was never a US citizen, and his mother was not of age (17), when Obama was born to give him natural born status. So many questions that could simply be resolved if Obama would release his records. But he won't -- because he is hiding something big, and is guilty of election fraud. He's not eligible to be our POTUS.
All this is irrelevant though because Ann Dunham was a University of Hawaii student when she met Barack Sr. and was at the age of majority.
This also avoids the point that the election voted into office Joe Biden as well to take over in case Barack Obama is incapable of assuming the role of President. If, hypothetically, he is not a natural born citizen, Joe Biden would assume the role of President and nothing much will be different. However, there is no way Ann Dunham was a secret Indonesian or whatever you feel like saying because she was quite clearly Kansas born and raised in a U.S. military family.
Second of all, as much as I hate both Islamists and commies, those two groups hate each other as much as we hate them. In fact, they fought each other long before we ever got to Afghanistan. He can only credibly be called a Muslim or a Communist, not both.

It seems all the left and right keep doing is treating the President like shit when their particular candidate isn't in power. Healthy criticism is one thing but if all you can do is assassinate the character of the Commander-in-Chief and representative of the US to the world, then you are no patriot. A true patriot stands by his country through thick and thin. You're just going back to acting the way the extreme right did to Clinton and the extreme left to Bush and I find all this frankly retarded. Lastly, don't try and abuse the memory of our fallen soldiers, those who actually serve this nation, to bolster your own personal arguments and viewpoints. I could just as easily make the point that the vast majority of elected combat veterans since before the Democratic majority ran as Democrats. That's what disgusts me most, the use of the deaths of servicemen by pogues and civvies for their own political gains. Some armed servicemen are Democrats, some are Republicans, don't try and tell me that your side is the only one that supports the troops when I can bring up many instances were that wasn't the case, just like with Democrats.
The election is over, grow up and treat President Obama with the respect we treat every other President. It's okay to criticize political policies, I get flak from the left for criticizing President Obama myself but don't criticize the President's credentials or personal life. No President should be treated like that and it's sad that we've grown accustomed over the last 16 years to do so.

It is a "CERTIFICATE OF A LIVE BIRTH," which form has often been issued in Hawaii to non-US citizens, if the mother wants it. It does NOT list the hospital where he was born, nor the doctor who delivered him, nor any address of residence. Nor has any doctor or hospital there proudly proclaimed "The One was born HERE!"
What should really open your eyes is that, as with Odummer's college scores, he is fighting TOOTH & NAIL to keep his REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE _HIDDEN_, & leveling the full force of government AGAINST ANYONE who even asks him to put it out publicly so he can be vetted. One man even went to Kenya to speak to his relatives, & was forced out by the PTBs THERE.

McCain is a natural born citizen IAW INA 8 USC 1403(a). In addition the US Senate met and concurred. His mother was underage (by 1 month) at the time of Obama’s birth and could not confer US citizenship to him IAW INA 8 USC 301.7(c). If he was born in Kenya, like his paternal grandmother, half-brother and half-sister say they witnessed, he was a natural born British citizen (not a dual citizen IAW Hague Convention of 1932. He obtained exclusive Indonesian citizenship when he was adopted by his step father. If he had been born in the US he could apply for US citizenship before the age of 23, but he didn’t. Therefore he is an Indonesian citizen and his name is Barry Hussein Soetoro.
The purported “Birth Certificate” is merely a “CertifiCATION of Live Birth” and not a “CertifiCATE of Live Birth”. The former may be issued to anybody by any state regardless of where born by completing an authenticated application. Obama’s sister, who was born in Indonesia has one issued by Hawaii also. A “Certificate of Live Birth” shows the names of the hospital, doctor and witnesses.

The real or Actual number was just over 400 Billion less than half the number you keep tossing around and that was to up only because of the war spending bill. Please look it up in the Actual numbers produced by the CBO and not on some KOS blog.

a lot to ask, and the safety net worked and my daughter received
excellent care during her 102 day stay in the NICU in one of the
finest hospitals in the country. Furthermore, my daughter receives
Special Services care until age 21 regardless of any changes to our
insurance status.
When we had insurance through my husbands work, we had myself and my husband insured with Blue Cross, and to keep costs down we had our children insured through Healthy Families, the State program that offers low-cost ($29.00 month per family) insurance for children.
Another anecdotal example - my mother is Canadian and was visiting us and
had chest pains. We took her to the hospital and they treated her
immediately, no one asked about her insurance until after she had been
stabilized, and then accepted her Canadian Govt. insurance without
blinking.
During these experiences I kept wishing Michael Moore was nearby with
his camera. Maybe I'm wrong but the medical horror stories I hear are
always second or third hand, in the vein of urban legends. My personal
experience leaves me pretty skeptical of their veracity, furthermore,
I have yet to meet one single person who believes that they themselves
need or would benefit from Obamacare, or even knows anyone who would,
for that matter. Obama means to shove this ridiculous program down our
throats by tugging at our heartstrings, but I have a better idea as to
where he ought to shove it.

The fact of the matter is that most American are happy with their healthcare. They are not happy with the cost. That is what needs to be addressed and the government is absolutely the wrong way to go.
Regardless of your political party or ideology, I would ask that you consider something and see if it makes sense to you. If the proposed healthcare plan is such a good thing, why will the U.S. Congress not commit to using it for themselves and their families? I would support any plan that they are REQUIRED to use. My guess is that the healthcare plan will be the same as Social Security. One plan for the masses, another for Congress. Just consider what I am saying, that's all that I ask.
You do know that health insurance is not the same as health coverage. Everyone has the right now for medical care.

Our healthcare system is NOT in crisis (unless you count Medicaid and Medicare--govt run), but it soon will be if Obama and much of Congress get their way. Along with an economy in shambles, they will strip away the best health-care system in the world, put in place a system that will be staggering in cost and not cover even half of what they claim. Forget private insurance too as it will be taxed and regulated away with employers dumping their employees into the public system and govt employed groups that decide who gets what as far as care goes.

This is not to say that there are not real philosophical differences involved. In my case I tend to dislike the Democrats and the Republicans equally. I am opposed to Obama because I disagree with his policies and think they are bad for the country.
I see a President that started out trying to work with the opposition and was continually rebuffed. Then, as you note, human nature kicks in and you stop trying. That's what I see happening here. The Republicans go out of their way to taint everything he does, and they cry that they're left out of the process.
The fact is that whenever a particular party has control of the Executive and Legislative branches they tend to do what they think is best, because they don't HAVE to really work with the opposition. It's not necessarily a good thing, but the way it is.

The lines of communication close immediately on any significant proposal because as soon as the ink is dry on any Democratic proposal, the Republicans immediately call it Socialist, big-government, elitist, anit-American, etc. Then they quickly draft a counter-proposal that incorporates exactly none of the original proposal offered by the Dems, and vow to vote across the board to defeat the measure by the Dems.
This is productive legislating, with effective compromise, working for a solution that's best for the country? I don't think so.

Second, I've been to both France and Australia multiple times in the last year, where I've visited extensively with co-workers, family, and customers. Everyone I've talked to has nothing bad to say about their health care. They're able to go to the doctor or hospital when they want to, and prescriptions are reasonable. I found it fascinating that at the beginning of the debate President Obama went on to praise the Mayo Clinic for their work as a private sector company who has been able to find ways to keep costs down and improve outcomes. However, it was disturbing later on to have a pre-taped segment with a Mayo Clinic doctor discussing how 20-25% of the medical costs come at the end stage of life and how it was just not possible to provide every test, etc. To me, that came across as saying if we just deny elderly the tests and care they need at the end of life that will be a tremendous savings to the system. Who will make that decision? Another segment I found disturbing was when the woman sitting in the front room told the story of her 105 year old mother getting a pacemaker at the age of 99 after the doctors all advised against it. It was the “subjective” view of a doctor that agreed to do the procedure since the mother was still engaged and expressive in life. Obama then went on to say that you CANT have subjectivity in medicine. Does that woman not realize that what Obama just said was that her mother would NOT have received the pacemaker under his plan because no doctor would be allowed to take a persons life energy into consideration? How will his plan affect terminally ill children and young adults? Will care to them be limited? What if a child is born with a life-shortening disease, cystic-fibrosis for example? How will the plan affect medical research??
Here is what is going to happen. The system will become too overloaded for work and the government will need to weed out the people that have a chance for full recovery from medical treatment and will not need continued medical treatment from those who have too many strikes against them medically speaking. It will be a form of check boxes with a point range to determine if you should receive treatment. Do you smoke – oh too bad, that’s minus 20 points. You have cancer? Sorry, that’s another -100 points from your sheet. Sorry, you don’t qualify for service. Enjoy the rest of your life. It’s terrifying to see our country go down this path, a path I fear no there is no recovery. Four years from now the damage will be done, and Mr. Obama will have destroyed the greatest country on earth.
How about tackling one problem at a time? One of the big reasons the medical system, in particular, the ER are overloaded is because illegal aliens know that if they go to the hospital will are required to be provided medical care. Crack down on illegal immigration. You are not a legal citizen? Okay, we can treat you, but you will be deported immediately after treatment – and billed for the cost. How about limiting the malpractice law suits? Don't forget the cost of this plan either -- where in the world does he get the audocity to tell me that I will have to play for the loser down the street who is just lazy and doesn't want to work? Who is he to tell me the type of medical care I should receive? Will Congress, Senator and every other politician use the same plan that will be forced upon us?? My daughter was born fifteen weeks prematurely two weeks after my husband lost his insurance because of job loss. Due to his unemployed status the whole family was eligible for Medi-cal, and my daughter spent 102 days in the NICU at one of the best hospitals in the country. She continues to be eligible for care until the age of 21 regardless of changes to our insurance status.
The odds were against her and numerous times we were told she would not make it. At one point during renal failure her blood pressure was 10/7. She did make it, and yes, saving her cost a lot of money. She is now a thriving one year old.
Like her, many other infants in the NICU were born prior to the 28 week gestation mark, (As of now there is no viability before 23 weeks) when survival rates skyrocket to 90%. One year later, looking at all those children now, I shudder to think that someone might decide that that these babies are too costly to save. And why shouldn't I think that, given that we live in a country where Doctors can legally abort infants who are viable outside the womb.
I am tired of hearing urban legends about the uninsured poor, or the middle class victims of insurance companies. I have been there. Before my husband lost his job we had he and myself insured with Blue Cross through his company and had our children insured through Healthy Families (a State program) which cost a grand total of $29.00 a month, to keep our costs down. In another incident, my mother, visiting from Canada, had to be rushed to the hospital and was fully treated and stabilized before insurance was even mentioned, and then her Canadian insurance was accepted, no problem.
My only complaint is that Michael Moore was not on hand with his camera to document our "nightmare".
If enacted as proposed these reforms will become a terminal illness infecting our viability as a nation. Not only will the U.S.A. cease to exist a significant political entity but other entities will also be adversely affected. Without a viable U.S.A. Can the UN continue to exist? Without a viable U.S.A. what happens to the nations around the world that are dependent on our foreign aid? What happens to the world's economy if the U.S.A. markets disappear?

It will not cause more people to be covered. The 45 million uninsured today are in four groups.
1) In between jobs, will get coverage when they secure a new job. Usually this uncovered period is not longer than 12 months and usually the people opt out of COBRA due to the expense, so they have made the choice to take the gamble to have a gap in coverage. This is about 15 million of the uninsured. Many of these people could at least get their kids covered under the kids programs but don’t get them enrolled.
2) Choosing not to get coverage, instead spend their money on things like cell phones, partying, etc. They are gambling that they won’t get sick. This is mostly the 25 and under crowd. This is about 7 or 8 million of the uninsured.
3) Not able to get coverage due to a pre-existing condition. This is the group that needs to be addressed if there is any “reform”. However it is debatable if we have to destroy the current system for this group. Other options can be found.
4) The balance of the uninsured are ILLEGAL ALIENS. Do you want to pay for them?????!!!!!! So Congress is anxious to spend YOUR money to cover THEM before they solve the border problem and we end up with 50 million MORE illegals?
To add insult to injury, the studies of this plan have stated that this plan is just going to shuffle WHO is uninsured. Many people for small businesses are going to lose their coverage and be forced onto the public plan. After all of the shuffling is done, we still will have 15 million uncovered. They are destroying YOUR quality of health care and access to health care for no net end game!!!

If you want to fix these other problems, fine. I agree. It is a public health issue. But don't screw up our whole health care system in the process.
Any major change in the health care system has the potential to make it only worse. For example, government insurance will swiftly become a single payor system. How can a private company compete with federal insurance? The government system won't have to pay taxes on their income. The government system doesn't have to set aside money to pay for expenses - they can raise taxes or even just print money at will. It will immediately drive private insurers out of business. (Translation: lots and lots of good jobs lost). Then we will have a single payor system. It will be a lot like the Veterans Administration health care system. Ask a vet or two how they like care at the VAH. They opt out of it as soon as they can get private insurance or Medicare. Doesn't that tell you something?
Guess what country in the world develops most of the lifesaving new drugs and treatments? Yes, it is the U.S. With a single payor system, the profits will disappear, and drug companies will stop research. Again, lets look at the Veteran's Administration (VA) system, that mostly only uses generic drugs. If pharmaceutical companies can't make a profit on their drugs, where is the incentive to develop new ones? The US (and the world) will be stuck with whatever drugs are available in 2009, forever. Medical research and development will cease. By the way, check with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). They sponsor almost no research on pharmaceutical agents. They expect that to be done by private industry. So the government will not pick up the slack. And the loss of drug research means more than the loss of new drugs - it means the loss of thousands of jobs of the researchers and their support systems - right here in your district.
Lack of access to care is a myth. About 1/3 of my time is spent caring for patients with no (really, I mean zero) insurance. All they have to do is show up in the ER and they will get care. Or they can come to our clinics where they are seen by our outstanding board eligible or board certified fellows, and also seen by a faculty member. Further, of that famous 47 million uninsured patients, about 10 million are illegal aliens. They should be deported, not given free health care. About 20 million choose not to purchase health insurance, but could afford it. About 5 million are not covered for a few months in between jobs. This leaves about 5 million truly uninsured. So should we totally change the entire health care system in the US to add coverage for 1.7% of the population? I think not. And remember, these people can go to any ER in the US and get care. Why not just give them a pre-paid insurance policy paid for by the government? It would be cheaper than any of the "reforms" that are touted.
Want to cut health care costs quickly, easily, significantly, and effectively? The answer is tort reform. Give doctors and hospitals relief from the outrageous litigation that occurs and costs will drop like a rock. Insurance rates will drop. Doctors will stop practicing defensively (and therefore the use of unnecessary tests will decrease).
Another answer is to increase the number of doctors. There are many ways to do this. The more competition, the lower the costs will become. And access to care will improve. This is simple capitalism.
In short, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. There are reforms that will help the health of Americans. But the current direction of Congress and especially the President is just wrong for America. Remember, Americans like their doctors and the health care they have right now. Don't let President Obama and his ultra-liberal cronies in Congress mess it up.

They are going to tax your current employer provided health care benefits UNLESS you get them from a union. Straight up, unequal application of who pays the taxes. The Democrats are using this bill to payoff their voting constituents, the unions. Remember, only about 10% of the workforce is unionized and not all union workers get their benefits from a union plan. Many get them from their employers directly. So straight up, your neighbor may not have to pay this tax but YOU will if you get yours from your employer and they get theirs directly from their union. How do you like them apples?
Now what kind of tax cost are we talking about? As an employer, I can tell you that is costs about $1200 a month to cover a family, if not more. An average income worker is in the 15% or 25% tax bracket. And they also pay 7.65% FICA taxes, too. So YOU are going to have to pay about 22% or 32% in taxes on about $14,000 extra income a year and this is without a salary increase. Instead, your health care premium costs are going to be reported on your W2 and YOU will have to pay taxes on this benefit that you do not pay now. So your take home pay is going to go down about $300 to $400 a month to pay federal taxes on your current benefits. If you live in a state that has an income tax, you will pay an addition $40 to 80 a month more in state taxes.
All of this to pay for a system that will NOT solve the uninsured problem. It just shuffles WHO is uninsured. AND it WILL cover ILLEGAL ALIENS and Congress is exempting itself from being subjected to this program. This is what YOUR Congress wants to ram down your throats.

If the Feds included the wages for the people working at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid as part of the health system it may be more fairer. But they won't.
If the government pays local property taxes on their buildings it would be more fairer. But they won't.
If the government stops using the Treasury Department (Medicare taxes) to invoice and incurs all billing costs it would be more fairer. But it won't.
If the Federal government must pay postage on all mailings it would be more fairer. But they won't.
If the Federal government gives up their Official Immunity" and the "Medicare Preclusion Law, it may be more fairer. But they won't.
If the Federal government plan is not allowed to shift any costs to other government entities that are already funded by taxpayers, it would be more fairer. But they won't.

If the Feds set up an entire separate entity, that had to run like a private company, no funny shadow accounting practices.....well who would care. It would just be one more company to choose from. But the government won't play under the same rules and therefore can use everything as a loss leader.

The government health plan will cost a lot more than just straight ledger input-ed numbers. The hidden costs such as lost State taxes, lost local property taxes, lost local jobs, lost local work for contractors and others that service the local insurance company buildings.
I would say if you feel there is no competition you haven't taken the time to search for the competition. Now if you live in a State like New York, it is a State that many insurance companies won't enter. New York State mandates are the problem.
For twenty years I was a stockbroker and State RIA. One of my areas of investment research were insurance companies. P&C companies normally make around a 3% profit and health insurance companies make around 5% profit. When I see the people that discuss high profits, as a person that researched them for clients, to me it shows they listened to propaganda.
I had always wondered why and how countries lost their freedoms to egregious governments. I know know. You propagandize long enough, get the young people to believe in false presentations, get enough people hooked on government benefits and the masses will roll over and let despots take over. I've watched it happen in my own country, America.

I have ahd a friend of over 24 years from England, who has lived with this system of health care. She says, " believe me, you don't want it." And for every person you know that doesn't want the healthcare provided overseas, I can direct you to 10 more who disagree. They are absolutely astonished that people go bankrupt over here for medical care. Spare me the foreign insights, as I've traveled extensively overseas to the very countries we're talking about, and even have family living there.
As for the medical care, let me give you an example.
My uncle was born in Chicago, but had a job with RCA/GE that landed him in France. So for the last 45 years of his life, he lived, married, raised his kids, and eventually died a few years ago in France. For regular medical care, there are certain hospitals and clinics that you’re “expected” to use, based on the area where you live. Before everyone cries “See, Socialists dictating where you can go to the doctor!”, this is very similar to the system in place here in the US, where you’re “expected” to go to an “in-network” provider.
When he was diagnosed with cancer, he was able to go to the best cancer treatment hospital around…no restrictions, and no mountain of debt for him and his family. As the cancer progressed and was no longer treatable, he was given the option to stay in the hospital or return home. He and his wife chose the second option, and he returned to live, and die, in peaceful dignity in his own home. He received regular home visits and prescription medication to ensure his last days were comfortable, and he was never denied any coverage or treatment whatsoever. I fail to see how this is bad.
Two of my uncle’s children (my cousins) still live in France, and I still talk with them occasionally and have visited with them twice in the last few years. They have never once voiced any concern or unhappiness with their medical treatment or the treatment given to their father. Before you go and claim that these are foreigners who don’t know what “good” health care is all about, understand that they have both lived and traveled extensively in the US (my oldest cousin was born here before her parents moved to France permanently), and their brother (my other cousin) has lived in Denver for many years. So, they are very aware of how both systems work, yet still have no complaints about how the system works in France. THIS DOES NOT MEAN that they criticize our way of doing things, or have some ax to grind with the big bad United States simply because they’re French! Most of their families (aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, etc.) live here in the US, and they love coming here to visit. They simply like the way their healthcare system works, and they are astonished that people over here actually go bankrupt over medical bills. It’s as simple as that.
I’m not claiming that I know all there is to know about how their system works, or that everyone is thrilled with it. All I can go by is personal experience as mentioned above. Thanks for hearing me out.

The fact is that pretty much everyone you talk to agrees (and yes, I know that's a typical setup but in this case I think it's fair) that the current system is broken and needs to be modified.
So, why not at least TALK ABOUT or ENTERTAIN THE IDEA or DISCUSS THE MERITS of something that MAY HELP TO FIX THE PROBLEM?
The insurance industry is doing all they can to scare the sh*t out of everyone, and it's working.
And your statement about visiting a country where people "actually suffer" is so f'ing deluded that it's insulting. You think people aren't suffering here?
And what does that have to do with fixing a broken system?
Anyway, let's say you're right about the 40 million people and it's exaggerated. Let's say it's "only" 25 million. Still a lot of people.

Instead of answering all these posts individually I will combine them all. First of all I am sorry for the lose in your family. Cancer is an insidious disease and I hope that one day we will be able to come up with a cure. As for the rest of it, let's start with this. Crayons, really? You give me enough credit for my ideas and then attack my intelligence, why? I gave you more than one example of how I believe they should look at reform. I gave you options that would help change the system and reduce cost. My beef, as you put it, is with a system that would pay people not to work and pay them for it. My insurance pays for 90 percent of our medical needs during the year. It used to cover 100% but things have changed quite a bit in the last 15 years. My problem is that SSI is proposed to be for people with disabilities. IT IS NOT!!!! Some people with true disabilities my be covered, but on the whole the system is full of fraud.
Our two party system has it's flaws, but works. I don't like it when one party is in power, I don't believe that the public interest is served. The American people don't look at the issues anymore, they voted based on party. The representatives don't vote on anything that will keep them from retaining there jobs. This latest vote is a prime example. The party in charge drops another 300 pages that nobody read before they voted on it, tell me in what why this is a good thing. There is too much corruption in our government. Too much greed among the politicians and way too much fraud. Our government encourages it from the top to the bottom and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight.
As far as college is concerned, a college degree gives people a piece of paper to hang on their walls, it does not bestow common sense on the recipient. I respect anyone who has the discipline to complete college, but that gives no one the right to hold it over my head. The insights you claim to agree with were not the result of college, but life experience. I really don't understand your ire in this situation. You are so hard on the people who didn't watch it the program and complained, but can't but you don't get the point of view that we didn't just have to watch the show it know what he is proposing.
I hope that all is resolved soon. I hope that we can reform without pulling the plug. I will say again that the biggest problem with our system right now, not just in the areas of health care, but with out government as a whole. NO personal responsibility, NO moral compass, FRAUD, CORRUPTION, and GREED. The government cannot solve the issue when it is a BIG part of the problem. The American people need to wake up before the true nightmare begins. I do appreciate your insights and will consider everything you said, even though it is not in crayon. I hope that you will do the same in king and give this same consideration to others before you come so soon to anger and curse word. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, allow them that without so many cross words. Life is too short for so much anger everything works itself it, that's the American way (at least for now).

I don't know why you're fixated on the college thing. I mentioned that one time in response to someone who accused me of being lazy and dependent...I was simply pointing out that I put in the time and commitment to graduate from college and maintain a full-time job, while paying all my own bills and raising my own family. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not sure how you've taken such offense to it. I never held anything over your head, and it had absolutely nothing to do with you. Why the fixation on a single comment that I made in defense of my honor?
I completely get the point that you don't have to watch the program to know what he is proposing. What I'm suggesting is that not only didn't they watch the show (and then opined openly about what the show contained!) , but they don't really know what he is proposing either. I'm not talking about the standard "Socialism" answer...I'm talking about real answers with facts.
Once again, you fail to take into consideration that I've said to at least 3 or 4 people with blatantly differing opinions from my own that I AGREE WITH MANY OF THE THINGS THAT THEY SAID. Of course, not one person has stated the same to me. Yet I'm the one who you hope "will do the same in kind", "without so many cross words"? The only cross words I've used have been when people have blatantly slandered me or twisted my words into something I never said.

There is another important issue about nationalized health care. It does not allow for healthy competition between insurance companies. How are private companies going to compete with cheap government care? Employers always go with what is cheaper. They are going to take the cheapie government care for employees. You think cheap is going to give quality care? I don't think so. You get what you pay for. That spells bad health care to me. Besides, there are already government run plans available now for low income citizens. And the government does not do a good job with those as it is. If our system is so broken, then why do so many people, including some important leaders come to our country to recieve their health care?
No, if we need to "fix" ANYTHING about US health system, it's to get rid of the hold TORT REFORM LAWYERS have on it, which is what drives up the cost so freakin' HIGH!

Congratulations, we just beat out Slovenia, Cuba, and Brunei for 37th place. Notice those ahead of us, including France (#1), Spain, UK, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Australia, Canada, etc....all of whom have at least some form of national health care plan. You can keep deluding yourselves with "America is #1" all you want, but the system's broken folks.

But when you need Medical Care, notice I didn't say Health Care, the doctors in France (1), Spain, UK, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Australia, Canada, etc. tell you to go home for the care you really need.

As I've stated many times here, I've visited these countries, spent considerable time there, talked with people who live there about this very issue, and even have a cousin who lives there (France).
None of the things you're stating are even remotely true. I welcome a spirited dialog and debate, but at least TRY to bring some facts to the table before spouting off the Rush Limbaugh talking points.
